    Free Services offered by Athena Insrance
    At Athena Insurance we believe in "old school" customer services.  When Steve was tutored in the insurance business he was a debit agent. Right? You do not even know what a debit agent is correct? It's because they are a things of the past.  But I will explain how it ties into the free services.
    In 1980 Steve worked for the Prudential Insurance Company of America. As a debit agent he was "assigned" a small section of Fremont California to service.  He would drive out to the community and literally knock on the clients' doors, (preceded by a letter a couple of days earlier and introducing himself as the new servicing agent) and provide a free service review.
    In many instances he was greeted with "Hello...just to let you know we are not buying any more insurance."  And Steve would say "I understand. I am here to provide a free service. I am here to introduce myself to you personally, to review with your your existing policies and make any recommendations that I see which have benefited other families such as yourself."
    Sometimes the reviews would last for 2 hours.  The clients would could not believe that he did not pressure them into purchasing more insurance.  And, they were so impressed that when they talked to other people about insurance they recommended Steve.
    Today Steve still provides insurance reviews.  Although he no longer walks the communities he does provide free insurance reviews.  People mail in, email in or fax in policy documents and with today's technology Steve can share his Computer Screen and go through the policies with the client and making recommendations.  And he does this for free!
    And, those same people either buy insurance from Steve or they recommend their clients, friends or family.
    After all, it not all about the numbers and relationships do still matter.

    When it comes to bonds we adhere to the philosophy "Get to know your client!"   The exception would be for a Contractor License Bond due to the very nature of the underwriting process and the necessity.  For the Bid, Performance and Maintenance bonds there can be great deal of time spent assisting a client.

    For those Contractors that are familiar with this process you can appreciate the time and commitment necessary to keep your company and employees doing what they do best... "Construct!"
